2004 National MAP Survey Launched In July Partnering for CPA Practice Success (PCPS), the AICPA alliance for CPA firms, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) launched the 2004 National Management of an Accounting Practice (MAP) Survey in July. A trusted firm management tool, the survey provides local and regional CPA firms with the most comprehensive information available for benchmarking management policies and financial results against other firms. It includes detailed information about size-specific and practice-specific areas, and also incorporates questions tailored to sole practitioners. The survey aims to reveal critical CPA firm trends such as growth and specialty selection. Participation in the survey has grown steadily since its inception in 2002, with a record-breaking 3,300 firms completing the 2003 survey. With 43 state participants for the 2004 survey thus far, this year’s survey looks to break participation records. Most firms received an e-mail invitation to participate in the online survey; however, those who did not receive this invitation may take the survey at the PCPS web site. All firms have until Friday, September 3, to complete it. Results of the survey will be available in late October for all respondents. All new and current PCPS members can access the survey report free of charge. Nonmembers and the general public are able to purchase results for $300. A $100 discount is provided to AICPA members with an additional $100 for firms who complete the survey. Visit the PCPS web site for more detailed information on this year’s MAP survey or to participate. |
