High School Teachers Workshop Providing Resources for Success Bringing together the world of education and the world of business, the upcoming High School Teachers Workshop is an informative and motivating event for teachers. Teachers are provided with both the tools and resources necessary to educate students on the promising careers in accounting. High school teachers from across the state will come together at the third annual event, slated for March 16 at Walsh College and March 17 at Baker College. The program is a cornerstone in MACPA’s initiative to educate students about the accounting profession by targeting one of students’ main informants: teachers. The four primary goals of the workshop are to: Establish a foundation by providing teachers with free business-related curriculum and other materials to help students understand the career paths in the accounting profession; Build the framework for success by showing teachers new and exciting ways to teach the core competencies necessary for success in a business career; Solidify networks between high school business teachers allowing them to share the latest ideas and teaching methods; and to Provide tools for teaching success with a free CPA iPACK. The iPACK includes 15 lesson plans, the Takin’ Care of Business video and career guides. Business educators are forever challenged with teaching students in fun and stimulating ways. The tools, resources, networking connections and ideas provided at this event will make it easier for these educators to tackle this challenge. Special thanks to both Baker College and Walsh College for co-sponsoring these events. |
