To fulfill its charge of encouraging excellence in accounting education and attracting individuals to the profession, the Michigan Accountancy Foundation presented 15 accounting students with the MAF Fifth/Graduate Year Student Scholarship this year.

Scholarship recipients were selected by the MAF Trustees based upon rigorous criteria including their grade point average, on- and off-campus activities and community involvement, their professional goals and professional accomplishments achieved thus far as well as letters of recommendation from their instructors.

In 2003, the inaugural year of the scholarship, 13 students were presented with the scholarship. MAF board members say they’re pleased they were able to present more students with the scholarship this year and hope to continue the trend.

Scholarship funds are made possible through generous donations received from MACPA members.
