Two CPAs Named to State Board of Accountancy

Governor Jennifer Granholm has appointed three new members, including two CPAs, to the Michigan Board of Accountancy.

Stephen H. Epstein, CPA, West Bloomfield resident and retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP – Detroit, was appointed as a professional member to complete a term ending June 30, 2006 vacated by the resignation of Stephen M. Conley, CPA.

Robert S. Sher, CPA, West Bloomfield resident and chief financial officer and partner with Schostak Brothers & Co., was appointed as a professional member for a term ending June 30, 2007. He succeeds Richard F. Fabiano, CPA.

Sally Fedus, Plymouth resident and retired licensed professional counselor and certified rehabilitation counselor, appointed as a public member for a term ending June 30, 2007. She succeeds Dr. Samuel Graci.

“I’m honored to be appointed by Governor Granholm to be part of the State Board of Accountancy,” says Sher. “I’ve always been very proud of the fact that I’m a CPA, and have been for 30 years. I look forward to adding the experience of a CPA in industry to the Board of Accountancy.”

The nine-member board consists of six certified public accountants and three public members, including one attorney.
