Leslie Murphy
AICPA Incoming Chair |
For the first time in six decades, a Michigander will take the helm of
the AICPA. Leslie Murphy, group
managing partner of Plante & Moran, will become the AICPA chair at the Institute’s October annual
meeting.
As a member of the senior management team at the nation’s 9th largest
public accounting and management consulting firm, Leslie is one of the
highest-ranking women in public accounting in the country. A former MACPA
board member, she’s a prominent figure among Michigan CPAs and with civic
organizations alike. Earlier this year, Leslie was named one of Corp!
Magazine’s top businesswomen. Crain’s Detroit Business named her among the 100
most influential women in Southeast Michigan.
Read more about Leslie in the
September issue of the Journal of Accountancy and in this recent
Detroit Free Press
article.
