Computerized CPA Exam
Affects Your Classroom
The computerized CPA exam launched Monday,
April 5 – leaving behind the paper and pencil and introducing a new era of
technology-based testing for future CPAs. Associate accounting professor
Nicholoas Mastracchio Jr, CPA, PhD of the Albany School of Business in New
York recently published an article noting the affects the new format will
have on your classroom. Mastracchio encourages you to look at the content of
the new exam when developing the structure of your courses, stating the new
format is a different type of assessment of students’ skills. Access
Mastracchio’s article to view new ways to reconstruct your auditing
courses, a specific break-down of the auditing portion of the new exam, and
more. Also, to help your students become more familiar with the new
logistics of the exam, encourage them to take
practice test modules to get accustomed to the computer program’s
features. For additional information about the new computerized exam, visit
the
MACPA web site or

Junior Achievement partnership program, the “MACPA Accounting Blitz,” on May
