MACPA Accounting Blitz Reaches 17,000+ Michigan Students

MACPA Accounting Blitz Volunteers

Teaching students across Michigan fundamentals of business and introducing them to the accounting profession, the MACPA is making strides to grow the future of the CPA profession through a partnership with Junior Achievement.

MACPA member Dave Rose was awarded the Classroom Volunteer of the Year for 2003-2004 for his participation in the Accounting Blitz. Read the full article.

Through this year’s MACPA Accounting Blitz program, more than 600 volunteers visited schools in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, Lansing, Saginaw and Traverse City to teach from lessons developed by Junior Achievement. These volunteers have reached more than 17,000 students in 45 schools across the state.

The increase in the number of volunteers since the program’s beginnings in 2000 has made the statewide effort possible.

The MACPA thanks the volunteers for their time and commitment to the Accounting Blitz program. If you have an interest in volunteering for a future Accounting Blitz, visit our web site or contact the MACPA Academic & Career Services Department at 248.267.3700 or toll free in Michigan at 888.877.4273.
