Junior Achievement Names CPA
Volunteer of the Year

Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes (Western Michigan) recently named CPA David Rose as its Classroom Volunteer of the Year for 2003-2004. David was recognized for his 12 years of service in the classroom, during which time he has taught at least 22 Junior Achievement courses at four different grade levels to students in the Wayland and Byron Center School Districts.

Dave Rose, CFO of United Bank of Michigan and MACPA Member

Rose, CFO of United Bank of Michigan, has been a member of the MACPA since 1983.

In addition to his own significant efforts in the classroom, David has also been a strong advocate for Junior Achievement programs in his school district. He has promoted the benefits of volunteering for Junior Achievement within his business; most impressively, he has encouraged his two daughters to become JA volunteers as well, truly making his commitment to business education a family affair.

In a partnership that has spanned many years, MACPA and JA reached thousands of students through age-appropriate curricula. JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. Programs continue through the middle and high school grades, preparing students for additional key economic and workforce issues they will face in the future.

MACPA’s Accounting Blitz, held in conjunction with JA, utilizes hundreds of volunteers to reach schools around the state in a concise, single-day format. Volunteers are always needed. For more information, visit the MACPA web site.
