Educators Gain Teaching Tips, Accounting Updates and More at Educators Conference Nearly 70 college educators gathered on June 3 and 4 to gain valuable teaching tips, learn about the latest developments in accounting education and network with colleagues during the 2004 Spring Accounting Educators Conference at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.
Attendees visited the college’s picturesque Great Lakes Campus for a Naval ship tour and presentation on the Economics of Great Lakes Shipping before heading to the Waterfront Inn for a networking reception. On June 4, attendees enjoyed an all-day program with sessions by accounting text book authors, IRS representatives, and more – along with the opportunity to visit with text book publishers exhibiting at the event.
“The Conference was great. I really enjoyed the opportunity to talk with publishers, authors and other instructors,” said Dave Schrader from Davenport University. Educators should mark their calendars for the Michigan Accountancy Foundation (MAF) Educators Symposium on November 5. Hosted in part by Schoolcraft College at their VisTaTech facility in Livonia, the complimentary educator event provides professors the opportunity to network with peers while gaining crucial knowledge on changes within the profession from accounting practitioners.
