The MACPA membership of Lawrence E. Thompson of Harrison Township, Mich., has been terminated. He was found guilty by a hearing panel of the Joint Trial Board of violating Rule 501 – Acts Discreditable of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, for failure to cooperate with the professional ethics division in a disciplinary investigation of a member.

As a result of a decision by a hearing panel of the Joint Trial Board, the following member has had his AICPA and MACPA membership terminated: William J. Rauwerdink of Orchard Lake, Mich., effective June 3, 2005.

Rauwerdink violated the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct Rule 501-Acts Discreditable for using material nonpublic information to purchase company stock through the company's 401(k). He was also found guilty of violating AICPA Bylaw 7.4.6 in that he failed to cooperate with the professional ethics division in a separate disciplinary investigation.

The MACPA membership of Joanne Slesinski of Ira, Mich., has been terminated. She was found guilty by a hearing panel of the Joint Trial Board of violating Rule 501 – Acts Discreditable of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, for failure to cooperate with the professional ethics division in a disciplinary investigation of a member.

Membership in the MACPA requires conformity with the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct.
