Following through on his campaign promise to eliminate the ill-fated
Michigan Business Tax (MBT) and replace it with a simplified, six-percent
corporate income tax, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, CPA has introduced a
plan to revamp Michigan’s tax system.

Scott Herioux, CPA
Scott Herioux is the chief financial officer of the Hannahville Indian
Community, which is located in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and
includes the Island Resort Casino and the Sweetgrass Golf Club. Despite its
rural location, the Tribe’s highly successful gaming activities have not
only fueled unprecedented growth in both its enterprise and governmental
activities, but also significantly affected the economic landscape of the
central Upper Peninsula.

our state, I’m proud of how CPAs are contributing and lending their
