Finding Internet sites that are useful to CPAs can be a daunting task, so let your colleagues and the MACPA do it for you.

With the upcoming election fast approaching, the MACPA has compiled a list of web sites that will assist you in researching state and federal candidates for the 2004 election, as well as provide you with easy access to legislative activity updates in Michigan.

www.senate.gov – This web site allows you to connect with senators; find membership listings for senate committees; track and research bills, nominations, votes and lobbying disclosure information; access reference materials and more.

www.house.gov – Visit this web site to access contact information for writing to your representatives; to find a bill or law; to see the congressional schedule; and to access other useful tools and links to more useful governmental sites.

www.michiganlegislature.org – Michigan’s legislative web site allows you to search for legislative bills and Michigan compiled laws, view the official records of the actions of the House of Representatives and the Senate published following each day's session and access contact information for your representatives and senators to name a few.

www.georgewbush.com – The official web site of George W. Bush’s reelection campaign, learn what Bush has accomplished while in office and where he plans to take the country if reelected.

www.johnkerry.com – The official web site of John Kerry’s presidential campaign, get information about Kerry’s views on a number of issues.

www.votenader.com – Presidential candidate for the Independent Party, Ralph Nader’s official election web site provides information about this candidate as well as his views on a number of issues.

www.vote-smart.org – Project Vote Smart provides you with the necessary tools to vote intelligently this election: “abundant, accurate, unbiased and relevant information.” The site provides biographical information, voting records, positions and more on candidates and elected officials.
