New Professionals Mingle at Comerica Park

The crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, the murmur of MACPA New Professionals happily networking. All this and more could be heard August 24 at Comerica Park when MACPA hosted its second annual New Professionals Networking Event at a Tiger baseball game.

at Comerica Park.

More than 50 CPAs, accounting students and their guests gathered on Party Deck #3 of Comerica Park for a buffet dinner which included, of course, hot dogs. Participants could enjoy the game from the deck overlooking the stadium or from reserved seats. The great weather and social atmosphere overshadowed the fact that the Tigers lost to the Oakland A's with a score of 2 to 9.

Whitney Locklear, along with New Professionals Task Force members Chris Gelk and Dana DePalma cheer on the Tigers.

The generous group has provided toys to children through the Toys for Tots program, aided Habitat for Humanity in building new housing and walked or ran to support breast cancer awareness and fundraising with Race for the Cure. More relaxing activities have included wine tasting and joint social events with other professional organizations.
